"Rio" Tops "Scream 4" for Box Office Glory

With the trend of animation domination continuing forth, "Rio" beat out the pack by doubling its closest competitor over the weekend of April 15-17, 2011.

The Anne Hathaway and Jamie Foxx spearheaded bird-based flick did quite well for itself during its first few days of release by pulling in as estimated $41 million in ticket sales.

Garnering the second spot at the box office was the much-publicized spoof horror movie "Scream 4," which pulled in an approximate take of $19.5 million from moviegoers anxious to see the latest offering from the hit franchise.

Rounding out the top five were last weekend's box office champ "Hop" ($11.5 million), followed by "Soul Surfer" ($7.7 million) and "Hanna" ($7.4 million).
