Justin Bieber guested on Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show on Wednesday bearing a gift, making a superfan’s day, and wearing a pair of purple ‘Ellen’ branded underpants.
The “Baby” singer also joined the host and British singer James Blunt to speculate what Lady Gaga new single, “Born This Way,” will sound like.
The new Gaga song doesn’t debut on the radio until Friday and the three stars shared their thoughts on what it’s going to sound like – based only on the song’s lyrics, which were released January 27th by Gaga via her TwitLonger page.
Ellen kicked things off by playing piano and singing the song’s chorus, “Ooo There Ain’t No Other Way / Baby I Was Born This Way / Baby I Was Born This Way,” before calling on James Blunt for some help.
The British singer gave the lyrics a shot while strumming a few chords from his smash hit, “You’re Beautiful,” before DeGeneres called for more backup – Justin Bieber.
The show’s crew wheeled Bieber out behind a drum kit & keyboard setup and he offered his take on the new single and showed his chops on the drums and keys.
Bieber also gave Ellen a belated birthday gift – a lock of his hair – and surprised his “biggest fan” with flowers.
“I finally have a lock of @JustinBieber‘s hair. I’m gonna clone him,” Ellen Tweeted after the show. Check out the videos below!

Whether you hate him, like him or are obsessively in love with him, Justin Bieber is everywhere! The latest Bieber marketing monster, his 3D movie “Never Say Never” was pre-screened in over four Ottawa theatre screens this evening and I’m sure there will be hundreds of sore throats tomorrow. I’ve never heard so much screaming in a movie theatre in my entire life. Although there were fans in attendance who won tickets to the screening, many more purchased passes months ago in order to attend. These ‘Beliebers’ paid $30 from Ticketmaster and received a pass to the screening, a glow stick, laminated passes with lanyards, a bracelet and the special edition, purple 3D glasses. You won’t hear a complaint on the price, the girls I talked to were so excited to have the tickets, they actually cried when they got them. Not only that, but they drove over an hour in the snow, through rush hour from Alexandria, Ontario to get to the screening in Kanata. Now that’s fan loyalty.
Although the Kanata fans I watched the film with were screamers, they were still relatively calm. Police had to be called to Silvercity in Gloucester as an actual fight broke out. The funny thing is, these weren’t two preteens with raging hormones driving them over the edge, but two mothers who locked horns. Bieber fever indeed!
I’m not a Bieber fan myself, but you can see the major impact he has on teen girls. Girls in our theatre were screaming, crying and singing along with all of the music. If you are the parent of a Belieber, be sure to bring some ear plugs. Any time Justin looks at the screen or takes of his shirt, there’s more screaming than a rollercoaster at Disney World.
When I asked the Alexandria girls if they would see the movie again, “As many times as we can!” was the unanimous reply.
“This is a movie for non-beliebers and beliebers too.” said Celine Laberge. Madison MacDonald was happy to see that they showed an honest side of Justin. “We got to see the real him, not what they make him act like.” She smiles. Needless to say, the girls were very impressed with the movie and although they had a long ride home, they had Justin’s cds to keep them company.
As for this Bean, I couldn’t help but hum the few bars I know of “You Smile” on my drive home. Still not a huge fan of his music, but I definitely have respect for his musical talent. I think that is the part of the movie that I am the most impressed with. Even his fans who love him for his songs and his looks will get to see that he is actually musically talented and not simply the product of good marketing.
“Never Say Never” opens in Ottawa theatres on Friday, February 11th. It’s going to be a mad house!

It may be awards season in Hollywood, but the biggest red carpet in town was for the premiere of a Justin Bieber movie!
Stars flocked the premiere of “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” — where celebs like Will Smith, Usher, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Foxx, Jane Lynch and Heather Locklear all showed up with their kids for the big event.
Justin’s rumored girlfriend Selena Gomez hit the red carpet as well to show her support for the film, looking gorgeous in a short purple dress.

A Neverland Ranch seems decades away. He’ll be botching somebody’s
national anthem soon enough.
So for now, don’t fight the fever, and don’t hate on those who have it.
Justin Bieber, the first Youtube-created pop superstar, belongs to those
who discovered him long before his “team” discovered him, worked him,
promoted him and packaged him for “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” a 3D
concert film that serves up the boy/the myth.
But 3D or not, the film about the mop-topped Canadian — who turns 17
March 1 — doesn’t let us get very close to “the talent.” We get an hour
and forty-five minutes of movie that runs through most of his hit songs
“(Baby” “One Less Lonely Girl”) as performed on an 86 city concert tour.
We’re served snippets of home movies that chronicle his meteoric rise, a
mocking moment of hair-flipping, a few shirt-changing scenes guaranteed
to make girls squeal. And there’s not even a full minute of sound bites
with just Justin Bieber talking. That’s how you protect an image.
Miley Cyrus shares the stage with him for a song, p*****ing the
teeny-bopper baton. Bieber sings with his idols, Boys II Men. More
cynically, Jaden Smith comes on for a song, pimped into the limelight by
parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.
It’s all good, clean fun, these ten year-old fans declaring that they
plan to marry him, older women wanting to baby him (his baby pictures
are a fixture on projection screens at his shows). For those without
teen-tween girls, here’s his story – laid out in interviews with his
manager, his vocal coach – mentors all, the most famous being the singer
Usher and super-producer L.A. Reid.
Bieber’s devoutly Christian mom, Pattie Malette, who had him in tiny
Stratford, Ontario when she was 18? Limited screen time, not a lot of
talking. She’s stuck her foot in it a few times, so no sense letting her
get off message. His dad, who left mom when he was 10 months old? A few
tears, even fewer words.
Choreographer-director (“Step Up 3D”) Jon Chu’s film, photographed by
Reed Smoot, who has large format (IMAX) documentaries (“Wild Oceans 3D”)
on his resume, may do little with the 3D. But the movie captures some of
Bieber’s inherent playfulness and goes to some pains to paint him as
“normal,” even when that voice coach, “Mama” Jan Smith, informs him
“This is your normal, now.” His teen boy bonafides are established by
putting him on the basketball court with childhood pals.
And the talent is obvious, even in those earliest videos, busking for
spare change outside the Avon Theater, uncertain of pitch but covering
soul and R & B tunes with conviction, confidence and p*****ion.
But will we ever see the “real” Justin Bieber, up close and personal?
“Never say never,” kids, but that won’t come until this fever subsides.
“Never Say Never” is about as revealing as a Canadian snowmobile suit.
