The 14-year-old actress was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in ‘True Grit’
It looks like Justin Bieber is showing some congratulatory love to his fellow teenage contemporaries these days via Twitter.
The young pop star tweeted to his even younger friend, Hailee Steinfeld, congratulating the actress for her Academy Award nomination. Steinfeld, 14, was nominated for her role as Mattie Ross in the Coen Brothers’ True Grit.
Hailee made a live appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about her reaction to her nomination.
“Its very overwhelming,” Steinfeld said. “It’s a lot to comprehend, but I have great family and friends who are very supportive. I think I got more text messages today than any other time in my life.”
Not having a Twitter account herself, she was told by a friend that Justin Bieber had congratulated her on the social networking site. Bieber said, “Met at the Globes and she is super talented. CONGRATS to Hailee Steinfeld for being 14 and getting nominated for an OSCAR for TRUE GRIT! Now Hailee get a Twitter.”
Steinfeld agreed that she should probably make an account of her own, and as a 14-year-old nominee, she’ll probably get a ton of followers in no time.
