There’s no denying that Justin Bieber has a mostly female fanbase, so there are probably swarms of teen girls cleaning off their purple 3-D glasses to check out “Never Say Never” this weekend. For those guys who think they have too much testosterone flowing through their veins to check out the film, the Biebs has a message for you.
“If I could say anything [to guys who think the movie is only for girls], I would say, like, just give it a chance,” he told MTV News. “It’s just a good movie. It has a good story line.”
OK, so what if you’re not into Bieber’s music and you’re a guy? “Even if you don’t like my music or anything, just go,” he advised. “And take your girl.”
One guy who saw an advance screening, Jay Sean, admits that the movie does live up to the hype. “I really enjoyed the film, because it gave a really deep insight in the things that perhaps the fans don’t see like when [Justin's] so exhausted, like when his voice goes out,” he told MTV News. “You know, there’s so many people around you trying to hold you down and keep you normal, those are the things that I’m really glad that a film showed those parts.”
Jay went on to add that he went in to the movie not knowing what was in store. “I didn’t know what to expect, whether he was going to be acting or whether it was going to be something else. It was so real, and I love the fact that it showed what it takes to be a superstar,” he said. “I hope the kids took that message home.”
The 3-D movie includes interviews from some of the people closest to Bieber, including his family, friends and crew. It also features cameos from Miley Cyrus, Usher and Ludacris, to name a few, who were filmed during his concert performances at Madison Square Garden last year.
