Justin Bieber will appear in a Best Buy commercial during coverage of the upcoming Super Bowl, according to USA Today.
The report says Best Buy will announce Wednesday that Justin will appear with Ozzy Osbourne in a spot that will air during the third quarter of Super Bowl 45. USA Today says details of the 30-second commercial have not been revealed. The ad was filmed earlier this month at Universal Studios.
Best Buy marketing chief Drew Panayiotou says signing Bieber for the ad is part of the company’s effort to reach out to younger customers.
Panayiotou explains, “Justin Bieber is the biggest star out there, but that’s not why he’s in the spot. He symbolically represents something important to the brand message.”
Best Buy is not saying how much Bieber is being paid for doing the commercial, but people involved in celebrity endorsement deals estimate it’s at least $1 million.
Super Bowl 45 takes place Feb. 6.
